Media war with Google?

When you read items like this – Old media turns combative against new media – it's important to remember that "media" is a collective noun. Not all media are created equal, and our interests in the news media are appreciably different than those of film producers, for instance.

UPDATE, thanks to John Paczkowski: This quote from Time Warner CEO Richard Parsons seems particularly moronic:
"The Googles of the world, they are the Custer of the modern world. We are the Sioux nation," Time Warner Inc. Chief Executive Richard Parsons said, referring to the Civil War American general George Custer who was defeated by Native Americans in a battle dubbed "Custer's Last Stand".

Er, Richard. How'd that war work out for the Sioux, anyhow?
